1. Multi Cylinder Petrol Engine Test Rig With Hydraulic Dynamometer
   
  The ‘J.P.T.I.’ unit consist of a
   
 
1) Engine :- Petrol engine test rig consisting of a multi cylinder 4- stroke 4 cylinder petrol engine, developing about 10 H.P. at 3000 R.P.M. engine.
 
2) Loading device :-Coupled on a sturdy base with a ‘TECHNOMECH’ Hydraulic Dynamometer complete with weighing arm with dead weight in kg.and load cell with load indicator.
 
3) The unit is accompanied with the following accessories:- An ignition switch, a radiator, a self starter, a battery ammeter, a throttle control with an indicator for throttle opening. Special arrangements by switches for cutting off ignition of each cylinder for morse test, all mounted on a suitable panel board, a battery for starting the engine, clutch arrangement.
  4) Fuel arrangement:- Fuel tank mounted on a sturdy iron stand burette tube , 3 -way cock connecting tube, a stop watch.
 
5) Cooling water arrangement :-Cooling water arrangement by cooling pipings. A Measuring Jar to determine the discharge of cooling water. Special arrangement to use either radiator or external cooling water supply system.
  6) Exhaust gas temperature (Digital temp. indicator)
  7) Air intake measurement :- Air intake reservoir with orifice plate & Differential manometer.
   
2. Single Cylinder Diesel Engine Test Rig With Rope Brake Dynamometer
   
 
The J.P.T.I.' unit consist of a 4-stroke diesel engine coupled to a rope brake dyna mometer. A water cooled brake drum along with spring balances is provided.A Rope brake arrangement is provided to load the engine
   
  SPECIFICATION :-
   
  1) Diesel engine of 5 H. P. capacity ,1500 R. P. M. 4-stroke vertical, single cylinder engine.
  2) Loading device - Rope brake consisting of a brake drum of size suitable diameter & rope brake arrangement with rope ,hand wheel, spring balances.
  3) Fuel measuring arrangement-Consisting of a fuel tank, mounted on a strong iron stand, measurement of a fuel consumption by a burette & 3- way cock. Connecting tube, a stop watch.
 
4) Cooling water arrangement:- Cooling pipes, thermocouples, measuring flask to determine the discharge of cooling water & heat carried away by cooling water.
  5) Exhaust gas temperature (digital temp. indicator)
  6) Air intake measurement :- Air tank reservoir of with orifice plate, differential manometer, connecting hose.
 
3. Multi Cylinder Diesel Engine Test Rig With Hydraulic Dynamometer
   
  1) ENGINE- Diesel engine four stroke four cylinder, water cooled, developing 35 B. H. P. at 5000 R.P.M. provided with battery & self starter.
  2) Loading Device: Coupled on a sturdy base with a ‘TECHNOMECH’ Hydraulic Dynamometer complete with weighing arm with dead weight in kg.and load cell with load indicator.
  3) Measurements provided
  a) Fuel intake measurement.
  b) Air intake measurement.
  c) Water circulated exhaust gas calorimeter.
  d) Digital temperature indicator for exhaust gas & water temperature.
   
4. Four Stroke Single Cylinder With Electrical Dynamometer
   
  The JPTI comprises of air cooled petrol engine provided with Electrical dynamom eter.. Temperatures are measured by a digital temperature indicator. Various mea surements provided enable to determine B. H. P., fuel and air intake & brake ther mal efficiency, at various loads.
   
  SPECIFICATIONS :-
   
  1) Engine:- Air cooled petrol engine developing 3 H. P. at 3000 RPM
  2) Electrical Dynamometer :- A D. C. generator, with loading arrangement upto 2 Kw. Motor CMR rated as per IS 4722 [Temp. rising test as per IS 4722 ). Four air heaters of 500 Kw.
  3) Air intake measurement :- Intake tank of 250 x 250 x 250 mm fitted with orifice and water manometer.
  4) Fuel intake measurement :- Calibrated burette with three way cock assembly for cutting off the fuel supply from the tank.
 
5) Exhaust gas calorimeter :- Water cooled exhaust gas calorimeter, shell and coil type to study the heat lost to exhaust gases. Multichannel digital temperature indicator for measuring inlet & outlet temperatures of exhaust gases and water.
   
5. Two Stroke Petrol Engine Test Rig With Electrical Dynamometer
   
  The JPTI comprises of air cooled petrol engine provided with Electrical dyna mometer. Various measurements provided enable to determine B. H. P., fuel and air intake & brake thermal efficiency, at various loads.
   
  SPECIFICATIONS :-
   
 
1) Engine:- 110 cc, horizontal cylinder, air cooled petrol engine.
 
2) Electrical Dynamometer :- A D. C. generator, with loading arrangement upto 2 Kw. Motor CMR rated as per IS 4722 [Temp. rising test as per IS 4722 ). Four air heaters of 500 Kw.
  3) Air intake measurement :- Intake tank of 250 x 250 x 250 mm fitted with orifice and water manometer.
 
4) Fuel intake measurement :- Calibrated burette with three way cock assembly for cutting off the fuel supply from the tank.
 
5) Exhaust gas calorimeter :- Water cooled exhaust gas calorimeter, shell and coil type to study the heat lost to exhaust gases. Multichannel digital temperature indicator for measuring inlet & outlet temperatures of exhaust gases and water.
   
6. Two Stage Air Compressor Test Rig
   
 
A) The 'J.P.T.I' unit consist of one experimental type two stage reciprocating air compressor air cooled inter cooler ,suitable for a pressure of 11 kg/cm2 & having a displacement of 0.168 m3/min. driven by squirrel cage induction motor of 2 H.P. Energymeter & stop watch to determine the input to the motor. The above motor suited for 400/440 V. 3 ph. 50 cycles A. C. supply. The motor is provided with switch & starter.
   
 
B) Accessories:- The equipment complete with the following standard accessories comprising the following-
Two pressure gauges for measuring the pressure, One shut off valve, One non-return valve, pressure release valve. A receiver fitted with oil & water separator a drain cock, automatic pressure switch.
   
 
C) Air intake measuring arrangement-Air intake measuring device with orifice plate, differently manometer, M.S. air intake reservoir of size 0.4 m. x 0.4 m. x 0.4 m. mounted on a sturdy stand.
